Children’s Social Worker – Birmingham

We are currently recruiting experienced Children’s Social Workers to join supportive and dynamic teams within Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated professionals who are passionate about safeguarding children and improving outcomes for young people and their families.

The Role
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will manage a caseload of children and families and deliver high-quality assessments, care planning and interventions. You will work within statutory frameworks to ensure children are safeguarded and supported to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments in line with statutory legislation and safeguarding procedures

• Manage a varied caseload including Children in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care

• Develop and review care plans and interventions

• Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners

• Prepare high-quality reports for court, reviews and child protection conferences

• Ensure the voice of the child remains central to all decision-making

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

• Previous experience working within Children’s Services in a local authority setting

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance

• Excellent assessment, communication and report writing skills

• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively within a team
