Social Worker – Children with Disabilities (CWD)

Rate: £38 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week office-based
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Children’s Social Worker to join a Children with Disabilities (CWD)team in Kettering.
This is a specialist role requiring demonstrable experience working with Children with Disabilities. You will work with children, young people and their families to assess needs, coordinate appropriate support and review care packages, while ensuring safeguarding and positive outcomes remain at the heart of practice.
Key Responsibilities

Manage an allocated caseload of children and young people with disabilities.

Undertake comprehensive assessments of need and identify appropriate support.

Work with children and families across Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Children in Care (CIC).

Assess, arrange and review care packages to ensure they continue to meet the child's needs.

Coordinate and review short breaks and respite provision.

Monitor outcomes and make appropriate recommendations where needs or circumstances change.

Undertake safeguarding assessments and effectively manage risk.

Build strong, positive relationships with children, young people, parents and carers.

Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and partner agencies.

Ensure the child's wishes, feelings and lived experience are reflected in assessments and care planning.

Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports.

Participate in meetings, reviews, supervision and other service requirements.

Work in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local authority procedures.
Essential Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate MUST have:

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current Social Work England registration.

Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience (PQE) – ESSENTIAL.

Previous experience working specifically with Children with Disabilities (CWD) – ESSENTIAL.

Experience working across CIN, Child Protection and Children in Care.

Experience completing assessments of need.

Experience arranging and reviewing care packages and short breaks.

Strong safeguarding and risk assessment experience.

Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.

Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a complex caseload independently.

Ability to work 3 days per week from the William Knibb office in Kettering – ESSENTIAL.
