    Senior SEND EHCP Officer

Fully Remote | Local Authority Contract

We Do Social Work Recruitment is working with a Local Authority to recruit a highly experienced Senior SEND EHCP Officer to join their statutory SEND service on a fully remote basis.

This is an opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who can confidently manage a highly complex caseload, irrespective of service area, and provide expert statutory case management while working within a fast-paced Local Authority environment.

    About the Role

You will be responsible for managing complex Education, Health and Care (EHC) casework from assessment through to annual review, reassessment and tribunal preparation. You will work closely with children, young people, families, schools and multi-agency professionals to ensure statutory duties are met and positive outcomes are achieved.

The role also involves chairing Annual Reviews, providing technical guidance to colleagues, contributing to service improvements, and ensuring all work complies with statutory legislation and timescales.

    Essential Experience

We are looking for candidates with significant Local Authority SEND experience who can demonstrate:

    • Extensive experience managing complex statutory EHCP caseloads within a Local Authority.
    • Previous experience in a Senior SEND EHCP Officer or equivalent senior statutory SEND role.
    • Excellent knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice, and the statutory duties that underpin SEND legislation.
    • A thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, including identifying and managing risks for children and young people who are not on the roll of a school, with a clear understanding of the available education provisions for this cohort.
    • The ability to assess and manage risk effectively, understanding the implications for both children, families and the Local Authority.
    • Experience of preparing for tribunals and managing complex statutory processes.
    • Strong multi-agency working skills with the ability to influence and challenge appropriately.
    • The ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities and statutory deadlines.
    • A reflective approach to practice, using sound professional judgement to support decision-making in complex situations.

    What's on Offer

    • Fully remote working
    • Competitive hourly rate
    • Long-term Local Authority contract
    • Opportunity to work within a supportive statutory SEND service
    • Immediate start available

Please note: This role requires an experienced statutory SEND professional who can hit the ground running. Applications from candidates without substantial Local Authority EHCP experience are unlikely to be considered.

If you have the knowledge, expertise and confidence to manage complex statutory SEND casework at senior level, we'd love to hear from you.
