SEN Assessment Co-ordinator (SO2)

We Do Social Work is recruiting an experienced SEN Assessment Co-ordinator to support a busy Local Authority SEND Service.
We are looking for a highly organised and knowledgeable SEND professional with significant experience managing statutory assessment processes and delivering high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of statutory SEND assessments.
- Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments in accordance with statutory legislation.
- Draft, amend and issue high-quality EHCPs within statutory timescales.
- Act as the main point of contact for families throughout the assessment process.
- Chair multi-agency meetings and work collaboratively with schools, health professionals and social care.
- Prepare cases for SEN Panels and implement panel decisions.
- Consult with education settings regarding placements.
- Ensure accurate recording and case management throughout the assessment process.
- Maintain compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
Essential Requirements
✔ Minimum 5 years' experience working as an SEN Case Officer.
✔ Working knowledge of the SEN Module on Liquidlogic is essential.
✔ Proven experience completing statutory EHCP assessments.
✔ Strong understanding of:
- Children and Families Act 2014
- SEND Code of Practice
- SEND Regulations
✔ Experience managing large and complex caseloads.
✔ Excellent report writing and EHCP drafting skills.
✔ Ability to build positive relationships with parents, schools and partner agencies.
✔ Strong organisational skills and ability to work to statutory deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience working within a Local Authority SEND Team.
- Experience attending mediation and SEND Tribunal processes.
- Knowledge of SEND funding and specialist placements.
