Residential Childcare Support Worker

About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Residential Childcare Support Workers to support children and young people within residential care settings.
The successful candidates will have a strong background in working with children and young people, providing high-quality care, support, and safeguarding within a residential environment. This role requires individuals who can build positive relationships, promote wellbeing, and respond effectively to challenging situations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in your care.
- Support children with their daily routines, education, and social activities.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans and reports.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check for working with children.
- A current and valid Physical Intervention Certificate, such as Team Teach or MAPA.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
Desirable
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care, Residential Childcare, or a related field.
- Experience supporting children with complex needs or challenging behaviours.
