    About the Role

Wirral Leaving Care Services are looking for a committed, compassionate, and motivated Personal Advisor to join our dedicated team supporting young people transitioning from care into adulthood.

As a Personal Advisor, you will play a vital role in helping care-experienced young people aged 16–25 develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently and achieve positive outcomes. You will work alongside young people to provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support while helping them access education, employment, training, housing, health services, and community resources.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build positive, trusting, and professional relationships with young people leaving care.
    • Provide advice, guidance, and practical support tailored to individual needs.
    • Support the development, review, and implementation of Pathway Plans.
    • Assist young people in accessing suitable accommodation, education, employment, and training opportunities.
    • Promote independence skills including budgeting, cooking, tenancy management, and emotional wellbeing.
    • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, social workers, housing providers, and health professionals.
    • Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports.
    • Advocate on behalf of young people to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
    • Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable young people at all times.

    About You

We are looking for someone who:

    • Has experience working with vulnerable young people, care leavers, or within social care services.
    • Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Understands the challenges faced by care-experienced young people.
    • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied caseload.
    • Can work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
    • Has a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and relevant legislation.
    • Is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

    Essential Requirements

    • Experience supporting young people in a professional setting.
    • Knowledge of Leaving Care legislation and Pathway Planning.
    • Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs.
    • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
    • Enhanced DBS check required.

    What We Offer

    • A supportive and inclusive working environment.
    • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
    • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives.
    • Regular supervision and wellbeing support.
    • Generous annual leave and pension scheme.

Why Join Wirral Leaving Care Services?

At Wirral Leaving Care Services, we are passionate about empowering young people to thrive beyond care. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and supported as they move toward independence.

If you are enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to improving outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.
