Driving: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Personal Advisor to join Manchester's Leaving Care Service, supporting care-experienced young people aged 16–25 as they transition into adulthood and independent living.
You will manage a caseload of young people, providing practical and emotional support to help them achieve positive outcomes across accommodation, education, employment, health, finances and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload and maintain accurate statutory records.
- Support young people with Pathway Plans, assessments and reviews.
- Develop positive, trusting relationships and ensure young people's views and wishes are central to planning.
- Provide practical advice and support to help young people transition successfully into adulthood.
- Support young people to access appropriate accommodation, education, employment, training and health services.
- Coordinate services and support packages with partner agencies.
- Help young people develop financial management skills and achieve financial independence.
- Monitor support and ensure agreed actions within Pathway Plans are delivered.
- Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies to provide a coordinated response.
- Identify and respond to vulnerability and safeguarding risks.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience supporting care leavers or vulnerable young people.
- Knowledge of leaving care services and the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
- Experience of assessment, support planning and case management.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and the needs of young people transitioning to adulthood.
- Excellent communication, organisation and partnership-working skills.
- A person-centred, strengths-based approach.
- The ability to work flexibly and build effective relationships with hard-to-engage young people.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle on a daily basis is essential.
