Keeping Families Together Team Leader - Greater Manchester

Team Leader – Keeping Families Together (Interim to April 2026)

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a passionate and committed Team Leader to lead our Keeping Families Together service within Bury Children’s Social Care and Family Help. Providing strong leadership and stability while permanent recruitment is underway.

Keeping Families Together delivers short-term, intensive support to children, young people (aged 8–18) and families facing multiple and complex challenges. The service works to prevent family breakdown, reduce the need for children to become looked after, support fragile connected-carer arrangements, and enable successful reunification plans.

As Team Leader, you will manage and support a skilled team, offering both high support and high challenge to ensure timely, high-quality interventions that achieve sustainable outcomes. The team uses a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach, working flexibly and creatively with families and their wider networks to build resilience and promote lasting change.

    Working arrangements:
37 hours per week, worked flexibly between 7am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with participation in a Saturday rota (9am–5pm) and time off in lieu. The service is borough-wide and based at 3 Knowsley Place/Town Hall, Bury.

Bury Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment requirements. As a Corporate Parent, we are dedicated to improving life chances for care-experienced young people and championing their rights in all that we do.
