Team: Children & Families – Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
Contract: 3-Month Locum Assignment
Rate: £39.04 per hour Umbrella/LTD
Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days per week in the office – non-negotiable
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join a Children & Families Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team on a 3-month locum assignment.
This is a fast-paced safeguarding environment where you will work alongside partner agencies to assess information, identify risk and ensure appropriate safeguarding responses are put in place for children and families.
Essential Requirement – Recent MASH Experience
Candidates MUST have recent, demonstrable experience working within a MASH team.
Please DO NOT submit CVs without recent MASH experience – they will be rejected.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience of multi-agency safeguarding processes and be confident making professional decisions in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake safeguarding screening, assessments and information gathering within the MASH environment.

Analyse information from multiple agencies to identify risk, vulnerability and safeguarding concerns.

Make appropriate professional recommendations and decisions regarding children's safety and welfare.

Work collaboratively with police, health, education, social care and other partner agencies.

Respond to referrals and safeguarding concerns within statutory timescales.

Undertake assessments and determine appropriate levels of intervention.

Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.

Manage complex safeguarding information and competing priorities effectively.

Maintain accurate and timely case records and documentation.

Participate in multi-agency meetings and professional discussions.

Ensure practice is child-centred and focused on the child's wishes, feelings, safety and wellbeing.

Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and local authority policies.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must have:

A recognised Social Work qualification.

Current Social Work England registration.

Recent and demonstrable MASH experience – ESSENTIAL.

Strong experience within Children's Social Care and safeguarding.

Excellent assessment, analysis and risk-management skills.

Strong understanding of multi-agency safeguarding processes.

Ability to make confident and evidence-based professional decisions.

Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.

Ability to manage a demanding workload within a fast-paced environment.

Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Availability to work at least 3 days per week in the office – NON-NEGOTIABLE.
