Family Support Worker – Greater Manchester
We are currently recruiting for experienced Family Support Workers to join dedicated children and family services teams across Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting families and improving outcomes for children and young people.
The Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children, young people and their families to provide practical and emotional support. You will help families develop the skills and resilience needed to create safe, stable and nurturing home environments.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct support and interventions to children, young people and families

Work alongside social workers and multi-agency professionals to deliver support plans

Assist families in developing parenting skills and positive routines

Support children to access education, health and community services

Monitor progress and maintain accurate case records and reports

Participate in meetings and reviews relating to family support plans
Essential Requirements
-
Previous experience working as a Family Support Worker or in a similar family support role (essential)

Experience supporting children, young people and families within community or statutory services
-
Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
