An Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Employment Lawyer!

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Employment Lawyer to join an established Legal Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor with strong employment law experience to manage a varied and interesting caseload, provide high-quality legal advice and support a range of employment-related matters.

The position is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to secure a permanent appointment through a separate application process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice and guidance on a broad range of employment law matters.

• Manage and progress a varied caseload, ensuring matters are handled efficiently and effectively.

• Draft pleadings, legal submissions and other relevant legal documentation.

• Prepare for and attend court and employment tribunal hearings.

• Work collaboratively with internal departments, senior officers, external Counsel and other stakeholders.

• Support corporate projects and recruitment-related legal matters.

• Assist Senior and Principal Lawyers with complex legal matters and wider team objectives.

• Maintain accurate case management records and ensure all deadlines and service requirements are met.

• At PO5 level, provide supervision and guidance to junior members of staff where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must demonstrate:

• Qualification as a Solicitor.

• Relevant post-qualification experience in employment law.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and associated legal processes.

• Experience managing an employment law caseload independently.

• Excellent legal drafting, analytical and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and electronic case management systems.

Senior-Level Requirements – PO4 / PO5

Candidates applying at PO4 or PO5 level should demonstrate substantial experience in employment law, including the ability to manage complex and contentious employment matters.

For PO5 appointments, candidates should additionally demonstrate:

• The ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.

• Strong organisational and case management skills.

• Experience providing supervision, support and guidance to junior colleagues.

• The confidence to advise senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
