Early Help Worker - Family Support
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Early Help Worker to join the Early Help and Safeguarding Hub (EHASH) team in Rochdale on a temporary basis, providing sickness cover.
EHASH is a multi-agency front-door service for children and families across Rochdale. The team brings together Social Workers, Early Help Workers, Referral and Information Coordinators, managers and partner agencies to ensure children, young people and families receive the right support at the right time.
The Role
As an Early Help Worker, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary EHASH team to:
- Complete triage, screening and information-gathering within required timescales.
- Speak with parents, carers, children, young people and professionals to gather relevant information.
- Undertake home visits where required.
- Identify needs, risks and safeguarding concerns and determine appropriate next steps.
- Provide advice and information regarding available Early Help services and support.
- Complete Early Help assessments and risk assessments.
- Make timely referrals to Children’s Social Care or Early Help services where appropriate.
- Analyse information and contribute to decisions in line with the Children’s Needs and Response Framework, legislation and local procedures.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and high-quality case records.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working with children, young people and families, particularly those with complex needs.
- Experience within Early Help, safeguarding, social care or a similar frontline service.
- The ability to gather, analyse and assess information effectively.
- Experience completing assessments and identifying risk and safeguarding concerns.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- A sound understanding of services available to support vulnerable children, young people and families.
- The ability to work confidently as part of a multi-agency team.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to work to tight timescales.
