Children’s Social Worker – Knowsley Council
Knowsley Council is seeking experienced and committed Children’s Social Workers to join its dynamic Children’s Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive local authority committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
The Role
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will hold a caseload of children and families and be responsible for delivering high-quality assessments, care planning and interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. You will work within statutory frameworks and collaborate closely with partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake assessments in line with statutory legislation and local procedures

Manage a varied caseload including children in need, child protection and children in care

Develop and implement effective care plans
-
Work collaboratively with families, carers and multi-agency partners

Prepare high quality reports for court and review meetings
-
Ensure children’s voices remain central to all planning and decision-making
Requirements
-
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
-
Experience working within Children’s Services in a local authority setting
-
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
-
Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively within a team

Excellent communication, assessment and report writing skills
