    About the Role

Enfield has launched its new Family Help Service and Family Safeguarding practice model, placing early intervention, strengths-based practice and effective multi-agency working at the heart of children’s services.

We are looking for experienced, dynamic and committed Social Workers to join the Family Help Team (SW Level 3). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative, evidence-informed service focused on improving outcomes for children, young people and families.

The Family Help Team works with families from the assessment stage through to longer-term support, including cases progressing under Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Targeted Family Help plans.

    Key Responsibilities

As a Social Worker within the Family Help Team, you will:

    • Undertake high-quality assessments of children, young people and families.

    • Develop effective Child in Need, Child Protection and Targeted Family Help plans.

    • Manage complex caseloads and assess and respond appropriately to risk.

    • Build strong, trusting and purposeful relationships with children and families.

    • Keep children’s lived experiences, wishes and feelings at the centre of practice.

    • Deliver purposeful interventions that promote positive and sustainable change.

    • Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to provide coordinated support.

    • Identify and address safeguarding concerns, including issues such as domestic abuse, parental mental health, substance misuse, trauma and exploitation.

    • Review progress and adapt interventions in response to changing needs and risks.

    • Work within relevant legislation, statutory guidance and professional standards.

    • Participate fully in the team duty system and contribute to effective service delivery.

    About You

We are seeking Social Workers who are confident working independently and have strong experience in children’s social care.

    You will have:

    • A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

    • Significant experience within children's social care.

    • Proven experience in assessment and Child in Need planning.

    • Strong experience of longer-term Child Protection work.

    • Experience managing complex caseloads and safeguarding risks.

    • Excellent communication, relationship-building and analytical skills.

    • A strengths-based and child-centred approach to practice.

    • The ability to work effectively with families and across multi-agency networks.

    • Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.

    • A commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development.

    What Enfield Offers

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking Family Help and Family Safeguarding service that brings together Family Help, Children’s Social Care and specialist adult services.

The model supports practitioners to work with the whole family, providing coordinated interventions that help children remain safely within their families wherever possible.

Social Workers will receive regular supervision at least every four weeks, alongside support from colleagues and partner agencies.

    Working Arrangements

    • Minimum 3 days per week on site.

    • During your allocated duty week, you will be expected to work on site throughout the week.

    • Duty is approximately every 7 weeks.

    • Team base: Thomas Hardy House, Enfield Town.

    • Enfield Town Station is within easy reach of the office.

    Why Join?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to contribute to a new model of practice that places children’s lived experiences, family strengths and lasting change at the centre of safeguarding.

If you are passionate about working collaboratively with families and want to be part of a service committed to improving outcomes for children, we would like to hear from you.
